Letter 21 December 2021 -- written in the hour before actual solstice
Dear R and T:
These are letters to two soul friends way over sixty like me. We are living in the threshold.
I frame and share my latest discoveries about current world evolution and our participation.
I handwrite the original, edit when I type it into a digital document.
I will print and send or hand-deliver T’s copies.
Holy Spirit is Us
In November three different online study groups cross-communicated through me. I wrote this up with names and details in “Right Here Right Now -- Holy Spirit Sophia” [posted here today]. The gist of it was/is -- human striving individuals, becoming more aware interactively as participants with the spiritual hierarchies, are in effect The Holy Spirit – Sophia. Human spiritual relationality is the “art medium” and “substance” creating the future.

“An invisible reality”
I discovered contemporary Iain McGilchrist, a psychiatrist who has written a detailed argument for accepting the invisible reality underlying life, consciousness, and intelligence. I listened to two online interviews with him in early December and have bought his best-selling book The Master and His Emissary. The Emissary is the left brain, currently imposing a heavily-wired materialist world view. I am going to request the local public library immediately purchase his new book The Matter with Things: Our Brains, Our Delusions and the Unmaking of the World, quite expensive in hardcover. He says that the last chapter of volume two was the hardest thing he ever wrote and it took him six months – arguing for the presence of Spirit.
Build it and they will come
The Laszlo Institute for New Paradigm Research December 4 and 5 gathered thinkers from many fields -- science, engineering, medicine, philosophy, psychology, archaeology -- for a free online Symposium on a New Cosmology. So many international kindred spirits “testified”.

The question came up on the closing panel: how to deal with/work around those clinging to the materialist paradigm? Jude Currivan brought Buckminster Fuller’s way of addressing this: build the alternative and live in it. Those who respond to it will join in freedom. I was especially drawn to Jude Currivan, author of The Cosmic Hologram. I joined the group she co-found, WholeWorld-View; this statement on the website brings visions and language congruent with Anthroposophy: Archangel Michael, “enchristed”.

Since I have English ancestors [one quarter] and studied English literature extensively, this project for Albiona resounds in my soul.

WETIKO
December 17 I came across this Dec 10 conversation between Paul Levy -- author of a popular 2013 book on Wetiko -- and Andrew Harvey -- spiritual pundit. I respect both of these scholar-writers. Daniel Pinchbeck, through his Reality Sandwich website, also spread Wetiko into English-speaking culture.

Wetiko first entered the mainstream conversation through indigenous scholar Jack Forbes' 1978 book Columbus and Other Cannibals. Now Levy has a new book Wetiko: Healing the Mind-Virus that Plagues Our World. I have ordered it and will write about it soon. I discovered Wetiko through Pinchbeck and Levy about ten years ago. Two big aha moments came watching this conversation from last week. First: Wetiko will be another extremely effective gestalt to educate and motivate transformation in white-bodied people. Second: The huge ongoing migration to the Americas facilitated encounters with the strongest Wetiko forces in the world. Those who overcome it here, become seasoned spiritual warriors for present and future work.
Religious zeal was and is alive in many streams that entered Turtle Island's vast and varied spiritual landscapes. Wetiko will explain the evil version in historical social context. Levy's new book is about countering it with spiritual development, awareness, artistic and social activity -- exactly what I – we I hope -- want to bring into the world.
In case you weren't aware, Paul Levy also wrote about the appearance of Christ in the etheric posted May 2018 on his website Awakening in the Dream with a reproduction of Grünewald's painting of the Risen Christ. Levy’s essay was reposted by many; I came across it on an Anthroposophy Facebook Group maybe four years ago.
Whether or not “The Greatest Spiritual Event of our Time According to Rudolf Steiner” would be helpful in say a study group setting using Levy's Wetiko materials for white-bodied people grappling with facts of genocide, slavery, and colonialism, I guess would depend on the people. Steiner and Christ may be green lights or red lights depending on the crowd. I find it notable that Levy appears to have read a lot of Steiner’s books and has a working grasp of Steiner's cosmology. He offers his website followers a careful exposition with citations, placing the pictures Steiner gives in the context of his research, in his capacity as a therapist, and also as a serious spiritual seeker, speaking from his own ongoing inner experiences. He also cites Jesaiah Ben Aharon's very dense book The New Experience of the Supersensible. If Levy went through that tome even once, he really proves to me his mettle and dedication to understanding spiritual practices not his own. Levy is a practicing Buddhist.
One of the questions asked to Paul Levy in the December 10 interview was about linking Wetiko with capitalism, hierarchy, patriarchy -- dominance in general. I am still working with Paul’s answer. He said: we are all related, we are all living in, infected by the same Wetiko stream. Using language of dominance, hierarchy is a self-limiting spell. If we see it from an omni-perspectival view, creativity flows and newness can arise. Wetiko is like Prigogine’s chaos, says Andrew Harvey. Levy takes that idea further and equates Wetiko to prima materia in alchemy.
Wetiko understood has the potential as ground of sacred activism. In fact Paul Levy has groups researching “activation of creative genius” through dream work. He used the phrase “participatory medicine”. Andrew Harvey posited that sacred activism is the antidote to Wetiko. Paul Levy replied: not only the antidote, but the offspring.
“Collective medicine” seems akin to my ongoing social field queries. More on that soon.
